2024 IOC Climate Action Awards, Call for Applications for Olympic and Paralympic Athletes

The IOC announced the call for applications for the 2024 IOC Climate Action Awards (CAA), supported by IOC Worldwide TOP Partner Deloitte.

World Rowing takes the opportunity to invite Olympic and Paralympic Rowers who have developed an innovative project for addressing climate change within Rowing and are using their sphere of influence to educate others on climate change, to apply for this year’s award. 2024 Rules and Guidelines

In order to apply please complete the 2024 CAA Application Form – Athletes and send it to sustainability@olympic.org with copy to sustainability@worldrowing.com up to 24th May 2024.

Please find below the 2024 IOC “CAA” Judging Criteria:

The potential Winner will be chosen entirely on merit, based on the criteria set out below.

The Athlete has developed an innovative project for addressing climate change within their sport and is using their sphere of influence to educate others on climate change with clear objectives and outcomes. 

 As a minimum the Athlete will demonstrate:

·         The positive climate impact of the project (or, if the project has not been fully implemented, has a way to demonstrate impact) 

·         How they are using their sphere of influence to educate others on climate change and their project, potentially including their:

o   Sport

o   Club or team

o   Country

o   Fanbase and/or followers

·         Plans for the future of this project to extend its reach and impact.
