Egypt Coastal Level 1 Course

Level 1 development coach award is a competency based award where coaches are required to plan deliver and evaluate individual coaching sessions to teach or improve rowing and where coaches should be willing to work with a more knowledgeable lead person in charge.Trainee coaches will have the opportunity to demonstrate safety, athlete welfare, planning, boats, rigging, technique and basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology.

The Coastal Level 1 Course adds the coastal discipline specific considerations: safe management of on water coaching sessions, basic launching and landing on a beach and how to run 3 basic rescue drills, how to coach race technique. how to prepare crews for a beach sprint regatta – including an overview of the physical demands of the race, insight into the logistics of racing (progression, time trials, last eight, pool boats, standard rigging, lane selection) and the role of boat handlers and how to set up a beach sprint training course and run selection races
