A World Rowing Development Programme for L1 Coach Education (CE) and Coastal Race Module (CRM) training was launched in Hammamet, Tunisia on Friday 21 October. In attendance were nine (9) coaches from the six (6) countries of Cote d’Ivoire, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia, South Africa, and Uganda.
Training has covered both theoretical and practical aspects, with coaches able to undergo training, as well as to prepare the athletes scheduled to participate in the events.
This training opportunity preceded the 1st Africa Beach Sprints Championships and the 2nd Arab Beach Sprints Championships that were held from 27-28 October and 29-30 October respectively.
Four (4) Coach Educators, whose competences in delivering the training modules as part of their professional development were also under training and assessment, supervised by the World Rowing Tutors Rosie Mayglothling and Guin Batten.
It was a great opportunity to promote and develop African rowing coaches and increase the levels of coastal rowing in Africa.
