On October 5th, 2024, the Togolese Rowing Federation received a significant donation of boats through the World Rowing Development Program and Wintech. This event marks a pivotal moment in the development of rowing in Togo and a major step forward for the federation’s growth.

With these new boats, Togolese athletes can now train in optimal conditions, better preparing themselves for both national and international competitions.

The official handover took place in the presence of Togo’s ministerial authorities, the mayor, and other high-ranking officials, underscoring the importance of this achievement for the country’s sporting community.

This initiative is also a key milestone for World Rowing’s efforts to expand the sport across Africa. It represents the culmination of months of negotiations aimed at ensuring that African athletes, not just in Togo but across the region, have access to the resources needed to grow and compete on the world stage. This development arrives well ahead of the 2026 Youth Olympic Games, offering a timely boost for rowing in the region.
“World Rowing sincerely acknowledges Wintech’s generous donation of boats, along with their unwavering commitment and support towards the growth and development of rowing in Togo.”
