World Rowing Coastal Race Module Held in Istanbul

Istanbul, Türkiye, played host to the World Rowing Coastal Race Module (CRM) from October 17th to 20th 2024, drawing 16 Turkish coaches, both male and female, to enhance their expertise in the fast-growing discipline of Coastal Rowing.

The course was led by World Rowing Coach Educators Mykolas Masilionis and Nikola Gospodarski and was supported through Olympic Solidarity funding. The Türkiye Rowing Federation also played a key role, providing logistical and onsite support.

To complete the Coastal Race Module and receive certification, coaches had to cover the full syllabus, which included online learning prior to the event, as well as a range of written and practical on-water tasks.

The module is specifically designed for experienced rowing coaches looking to expand their knowledge in Coastal Rowing, with a particular focus on the Beach Sprint format, a thrilling race style gaining international popularity, and making its Olympic Debut in Los Angeles 2028.

We express our gratitude to Olympic Solidarity and the Türkiye Rowing Federation for their collaboration with World Rowing, which ensured the successful implementation of this course. We hope it will contribute to the future growth of Coastal Rowing in Türkiye.
